Accessibility Statement

Our aim

This website has been built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is the standard public sector websites are held to, and we think it is a reasonable one to aim at whether or not we are required to.

What we have done

• Colour combinations tested for contrast against the AA thresholds
• Every function reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator
• A skip link to jump straight to the main content
• Headings in a logical order, so screen reader navigation works
• Descriptive link text rather than 'click here'
• Text that reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels wide
• Form fields with proper labels, and errors described in text as well as colour
• Animation reduced automatically when your device asks for reduced motion
• A light and dark appearance, following your device setting or your own choice

Known limitations

The map embedded on our contact page comes from a third party and we do not control its accessibility. Our full address is given in text immediately beside it, so no information is available only through the map.

Some search reports we supply are PDFs produced by third-party providers. We cannot control their accessibility, but if you need information from a report in a different format, tell us and we will provide it.
